Actor Heath Ledger was found dead in one of his residences in Soho by his housekeeper at 3:35PM ET today.
Although the cause of his death is unknown at this time, law enforcement tells says it was not a crime. Pagesix.com reports that Ledger died from a drug overdose.
According to the New York Police Department, a masseuse arrived at the actor's apartment and was let in by the housekeeper. When the masseuse knocked on the door Ledger didn't respond. At that time the housekeeper and the masseuse opened the door and found Heath unconscious. They tried to wake him and when he didn't respond they immediately called 911.
After the paramedics arrived they attempted to perform CPR, but were not successful.
So tragic! RIP!
UPDATE:
CNN and the NY Times are reporting that Heath Ledger was in fact found dead at an apartment that was owned by Mary-Kate Olsen. Heath Ledger's autopsy is scheduled for tomorrow. He was found face down on the bedroom floor.
