Heath Ledger Drug Video Emerges

This is beyond sad! Entertainment Tonight and The Insider have paid over $200,000 to obtain rights to footage of Heath Ledger allegedly snorting cocaine after the SAG awards back in 2006.

The footage was shot at the Chateau Marmont at a private party without Heath's knowledge.

An insider tells Pagesix that Heath says at one point, "I'm gonna get so much sh*t from my girlfriend. We have a baby together… Matilda, Matilda Rose."

ET even released a statement to media outlets warning them not to broadcast the footage because they paid for the exclusive. Here's the statement:

THIS IS TO ADVISE YOU THAT ET AND THE INSIDER HAVE EXCLUSIVE RIGHTS IN AND TO PROPRIETARY MATERIALS OF HEATH LEDGER AT THE CHATEAU MARMONT ON APPROXIMATELY JANUARY 29, 2006

ANY BROADCAST OR USAGE OF THIS MATERIAL IN ANY MANNER NOT AUTHORIZED SHALL CONSTITUTE AN INFRINGEMENT AND VIOLATION OF ET AND THE INSIDER’S VALUABLE EXCLUSIVE AND PROPRIETARY RIGHTS AND WILL CONSTITUTE INFRINGEMENT AND TORTIOUS INTERFERENCE BY THE INFRINGER, EXPOSING THE INFRINGER TO SUBSTANTIAL MONETARY DAMAGES.

The man is dead, let him rest in peace for God's sake! This video was almost three years ago, there's no reason to try to tarnish his reputation now. Instead of remembering her father as an accomplished actor and loving dad, his 2-year-old daughter has to read about shit like this? Not cool!

I think this whole situation is tragic for all those involved, especially his two year old daughter. My opinion is that Heath should be left alone and his family as well. The man is dead why continue to dig up garbage and try to bring him down. No one is focusing on what a great actor he was, instead magazines are trying to make money off trashing him as well as tv shows. People really need to get a life and leave his alone!!!

First, it happened two years ago not THREE!!! More importantly, he was a young, healthy man, as far as we know, and he should not have just dropped dead from nothing. It will be interesting to hear the toxicology reports. As far as banning the airing of the video, I feel this is wrong. This is censorship in the worst form and what will be banned next. People this is the United States of America! What happened to freedom of speech? Yes, ET and the Insider are tabloid shows but, if you don't like it, you don't watch it. That's the luxury of living in a free country such as ours. Just like tabloid magazines, if you don't like them, you don't buy them but, we don't stopping printing them. Simple as that. It's called the first amendment and we are so fortunate to have it. Try going to a country that doesn't have this freedom, and you will cherish it even more, even the tabloids.
