Heath Ledger was born on April 4, 1979, in Perth, Western Australia and used acting as an emotional escape stemming from his parents divorce. At the age of 16, Heath migrated to Sydney to pursue a career in acting.
Following a string of TV appearances in shows such as Ship to Shore (1993-1994), Heath made his feature film debut in the drama thriller Blackrock (1997). His time on the show ultimately resulted in his first starring role alongside Keri Russell in the pilot series Roar (1997).

The talented actor went on to embody Bob Dylan in the biopic drama I’m Not There (2007) alongside Cate Blanchett and Christian Bale. A year later, Heath was reunited with Bale when he assumed and recreated the character of Joker in The Dark Knight (2008).
