Harry Potter Beats Out Dark Knight for Biggest Midnight Screening

Harry Potter has been crowned the new winner of the midnight showing! Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince came out in theaters last night at midnight, and managed to score $22.2 million, according to Warner Brothers.

That beats out The Dark Knight by nearly $4 million! Yesterday the studio had their doubts, saying, "It's hard to really tell where things are going.”

Those numbers clearly beat out the $18 million earned in midnight runs by Warners’ very own The Dark Knight and the $17 million earned by 20th Century Fox’s Star Wars: Episode III —Revenge of the Sith.
