Halle Berry wants to move to Paris maybe for the culture and the food, but most definitely to escape the crazed paparazzi we employ in this country. And with any luck and a judge's ruling she may get her wish, courtesy of an aggressive paparazzo.
In March, reports surfaced that Berry and her fiance Olivier Martinez were seen in Paris scoping out future schools for her four year daughter, Nahla. Sources close to Berry claimed she wasn’t necessarily fleeing her country, but the paparazzi that seem to fuel its economy with its invasive pictures of celebrities and most problematically (according to Berry) their families, trying to live normal lives.
In May, Berry was videotaped proving her own point - screaming at an overly aggressive photographer named Andrew Deetz as he snapped pics of her daughter Nahla on her way to school.
Berry was quoted in a Yahoo News article saying, “ Our children should be off limits. They are innocent little babies that should not be exploited all over these magazine. I'm fair game, I get that, but my kids [and] kids at my children's school should not be harassed like that... It's just wrong, wrong, wrong, wrong, wrong and wrong."
TMZ is reporting that Halle is getting ready to battle her baby daddy Gabriel Aubry in family court. She is asking the judge to allow her to move her family to Paris, where she claims the paparazzi respect celebrities privacy as well as their families much more than in the U.S. Berry's lawyer is expected to call Deetz to the stand and have him testify in the case, revealing his method and no-holds-barred technique of photographing celebrity children.
Sources tell TMZ there will be no quiet settlement between Berry and Aubrey and the case will go to trial.
The trial is expected to begin in June.
