No Wedding Bells for Halle Berry

In some sense Halle Berry already has her fairytale, she's got a gorgeous man, a booming career, and a little Berry on the way. That being said, Halle says she has no plans to wed her current boyfriend/baby daddy Gabriel Aubry.

She says, "What Gabriel and I have decided is that we will just redefine marriage for ourselves."

Halle, who is twice divorce, and has a string of bad relationships, swore off marriage a long time ago and she said becoming a mother won't change that.

In other Halle news, the proud mom-to-be will be a guest star on 'Oprah' today. As she proudly showed off her bump, Halle told Oprah that Gabriel and her had been trying for some time to have a baby. “I’m sort of superstitious, so I saved all of the negative tests in a drawer,” she says. “Don’t ask! I don’t know why, but I did. … After about 35 tests, we finally got a positive test.”

I'm disappointment that all these "bastard" children being born to Hollywood celebs without the benefit of marriage. Interesting that people can make a committment having children, but not to each other. So sad. What makes me more pissed off is the immoral image given by these celebs that silly-minded young people follow...so no marriage, just fucking and having babies with whomever you want. And somehow, we make these babies more important than our own. The immorality has reached new heights.

Oh, you people are pure trailer trash. I'm sorry that the idea of marriage, the idea of making a committment to another human being in front of GOD is so offensive to people. And while people put the shit on marriage when they are young, there are so many older Americans who are loney and afraid (especially women) who have no one to care for them in their later years. Halle's career is pretty much stalled right now. A baby is something for her to do.

Oh and to "loo loo", mariage is not just a "piece of paper"...only someone who doesn't understand the sacrement of marriage would say something like that...the Piece of Paper is for the government to recognize a legal contract between two people. The "marriage", in a church, is between a man and a woman and God.

What if you don't even believe in God? That is your choice, your view! What's with that part of your answer? The God part? I always believe in order to have your views respected, you have to respect everyone elses. What I DON'T LIKE is the social acceptance of such loose behavoir from these so-called "stars" when it's not accepted behavoir to the average person. Just because 50% of people can't seem to understand the sacrifice that marriage is shouldn't put down the 50% who can figure it out. Halle is a high-maintenance woman who has alot of needs...just found a white guy who could put up with her, which is good for her. But what works for a rich mixed actress doesn't work for the rest of us. The rich ARE different, not better.

The cycle of illegitimacy continues. Halle was raised without a father, so why would Halle need to marry a man and legally link herself to a man? For the average woman who doesn't have 20 million in the bank, illegitimate kids are a much bigger issue. Children need a male role model.

I think I got upset about the comments that we should be married (I personally, am married by the way) but a good friend of mine gets very ignorant comments made to her about not being married - she's pregnant right now but has been with her man for YEARS and they are very very happy and just don't see the need to get married. I just think it's sad that people's love for one another is only considered to have some value if it has the marriage papers to back it up that's all.

I think that the reason divorce rates are so high is because of the lack of acknowledgement of the importance of marriage. The Bible tells us that marriage is sacred, it is not to be entered into lightly and illadvised,the Bible also tells us that God hates divorce.
