Halle Berry Crowned Sexiest Black Woman

TV One Access has named Halle Berry the sexiest black woman alive. In their special countdown: The 16 Sexiest Black Women Alive, they devote an hour long to naming their picks for the year.

Senior producer Monique Chenault says, "The women selected as our 16 sexiest black women aren't just pretty faces. Each one of them is uniquely talented, strong-minded and self-assured. What could be sexier than that?"

Halle beat out Tyra Banks, Alicia Keys, and even Michelle Obama for the number one spot. We couldn't agree more that she should be given top honors! The special airs Sunday July 6th on TV One.

First of all using the African Patrilineal system as the foundation, any child born with a father who's African/Black is considered African/Black simply because the lineage of that child is based on the male side of the family. America no longer take that as a criteria for family line, hence, ethnicity. On this wise, both Halle Berry and Barack Obama are Black. Biologically (as with most Black Americans) they are mixed; however, by the present American standards (drawn from slavery) both are black and by the African Patrilineal standards (the father's side) they are black/Africans. Further, they are both Black/African Americans.

Now, if the truth be told, take mostly any Black Americans and juxtapose with an African they will look very different from one another; why? because most blacks in America aren't in the sun as long, and are mixed with other races/stocks--the proper term. Thus, our facial structure, hair type, and skin color are results of both. As black Americans we owe our multitude of skin complexion to those with whom our parents mated with and foreparents mated, whether by force or choice. As God's creation, we are fearfully and wonderfully made. God allowed us to be here, therefore, it doesn't matter what avenue God used to get us here, the blessed fact remains, WE ARE ALL HERE! And we are in this thing together; one earth, one people.
