Photoshop Gone Too Far

This is just taking Photoshop too far! I get that us regular folks are supposed to idolize celebs for their beauty but photoshopping them to the extent that they become unrecognizable is just wrong.

I had to really analyze the picture to realize who was on the cover of the September issue of W Magazine and I still couldn't figure it out. At first glance I thought Sharon Stone, then Sienna Miller then I read that it was Gwyneth Paltrow.

Come on guys, let's get a little natural with the photoshopping.

I couldn't figure out who this was either. She looks like one of those unknown, up incoming models that you have to be like who is this?, but I think she's pretty, and she seems really approachable as well.

It looked like Heidi Klum to me lol! There's no way that the woman on the cover is even near to the Gwyneth! Jesus Christ, this is just way too much!

I actually knew it was Gwyneth at first glance. As for how it looks, yeah, it looks terrible. She's so bronzed and square-faced. But yeah, it totally looks like her. Just not the "real" her, whatever that means.

I don't think "photoshop" is the right word to use in this case. This is photography angles and makeup. I think the end results on Gywneth are not attractive, but it's edgy and different and probably all done on purpose.

this is not photoshopped, it is all make-up, if you ask me. There is nothing to photoshop, it is just her face, and the make-up plus platinum hair, are a very different (edgy) look for her.

It's all make-up to do something different than what's normal for her. It sounds like people are taking it way too serious! It's only a magazine cover! For the most part, I think most women are jealous of her. I think they did a great job in doing something different when they made the decision to color outside the lines. I think her look -- for a magazine cover -- is great! Well done!

Wow! Obviously you all need help! W is a high fashion magazine, she is not photo shopped. They are just trying to give her a different look. If you don't like it that's one thing. No reason to get so personal on a woman you don't even know!

ALL magazine covers are photoshopped. I do that for a living. No cover goes untouched. I'm sure great photography, lighting, and makeup are involved also, but don't discount digital retouching. There is not one single line on her face - that is Photoshop. Even young people with beautiful skin have expression lines somewhere. I think she is a pretty woman - not gorgeous - but this is a very different look for her. I prefer her pale & demure, as it seems to fit her personality better.

This is the height of ridiculous... I'm all for photoshoping (whoever says this is not altered is completely nuts) but this is altered to the point that it's no longer her! Its not just the skin and nose and eyebrows... they've changed the entire shape of her face! How could anyone be proud of getting a cover when it's not them on the cover?!? And BTW there's no "photo angle" in the world that could do all that! And as to the idea that they did this "on purpose" if I were her, I'd like to be somewhat recognizable if I were on the cover of W.

If Gwyneth's character in SHAKESPEARE IN LOVE (a woman who dressed up as a man to be an actor in a Shakesepare play) looked like she does this photograph, she probably would have gotten away with it, no problem. Yikes. Will the real Gwyneth please return? You're generally lovely. There is no need to try so hard.

Not sure why people are so rude about Gwyneth. She is a very beautiful woman, always has been and always will be. And how can anyone honestly say that this photo of Gwyneth is unrecognizable? Looks just like her. There is nothing wrong with looking good. All women do different things to look good. If this photo was of a friend or wife of all the one's putting Gwyneth down, I can guarantee they would be going on how beautiful she was. Jealously doesn't become people so just admit she looks good and I'll apologize for the rude comments. So sorry Gwyneth they realize now you take care.

Not only is this Gwenyth, it is ALL Gwenyth. It's make-up folks! and camera angle and attitude! How can anyone say this isn't her? Stop being jealous girls this is why she is an actress/model and we are not. It's wonderful! Buy photoshop so you can adjust your own photos and leave Gwen alone.
