No Trouble For Paltrow and Martin

November 29, 2007

Gwyneth Paltrow and her husband Chris Martin haven't been seen out in public for a few months, so naturally everyone is assuming their marriage is on the rocks. This pesky rumor didn't sit well with Paltrows rep.

Paltrows super rep Steven Huvane, states the rumors of a split are just that rumors. He says that they "are absolutely not true. They have been completely together and barely separated. Chris was with her in Los Angeles during the shooting of 'Iron Man,' and then with her in the Hamptons during the summer, and in London for September and October. She's been in New York for the past week, but he is joining him soon in a few days. This stems from the fact that both Chris and Gwyneth make a deliberate effort not to be photographed together. She does not take him to any events where there will be press - or if she does, they enter separately. It is their policy not to put their relationship out there for public consumption."

These two seem like they have found a way to make a relationship work. Besides, who says you need to be with your significant other 24 hours a day? Maybe that's why the divorce rate is so high in the U.S. It's all about personal space people!

I would think it's healthy to be able to do things on your own and not always have to drag your spouse to every outing and event. She's an actress, he's a musician - I'm sure when he's on tour and she's promoting a movie -they aren't always going to be together. They met when they were older so they had their own circle of friends as well. Maybe Chris doesn't want to shoot the shit with her actor friends discussing movies and scripts and maybe she doesn't like hangin' with the boys and discussing music, lyrics, song line ups and being on the road. I find it refreshing when a married couple still hold onto their own identities and can do things independently of each other. What is wrong with that? It's called mutual respect.

I never heard of a couple who don't go to events and outings together. And you think that's normal... They are weird !

And a stars rep has never lied to the public before. How many times have we seen a rep deny seperation issues with their clients, and not even a week later the clients seperate??? Who cares? They seem like they got the shit together, but that means nothing in Hollywood.
