Gwyneth Kate Paltrow was born on September 27, 1972, in Los Angeles, California, to TV producer Bruce Paltrow and Tony Award-winning actress Blythe Danner.
After moving to New York with her family, Gwyneth made her on-stage debut at Massachusetts’ Williamstown Theatre Festival, where her mother performed throughout several summers.
As she grew into her beauty and furthered honed her acting skills, Gwyneth landed her first on-screen role in the musical drama Shout (1991) alongside John Travolta, followed closely by the adventure comedy Hook (1991) with Robin Williams and Dustin Hoffman.
Gwyneth then gave a well-received performance opposite her mother in the made-for-TV film Cruel Doubt (1992) prior to dropping out of UC Santa Barbara to pursue acting fulltime.
