Nicole Richie has come such a long way since becoming a mother. A few years ago her biggest concern was which social event she would be attending with her bff Paris, and now her priority has shifted to her family and their health.

Nicole spoke to Hollyscoop exclusively at the Environmental Media Association Event this week about the importance of educating children on nutrition, diet, and going green. Here are some highlights from the interview:

Happy Earth Day! And to celebrate, website GreenDaily.com has named the most eco-friendly celebrities out there. Many stars have opted to go green lately, but there are only a few notable celebs that stand out amongst the rest.

According to a poll conducted by both GreenDaily and Bebo.com, Leonardo DiCaprio beats out the competition on the men’s’ side, while Oprah is on top for the women.

Leonardo DiCaprio is no stranger to the green movement. And now he's got his mom on board too--literally.

At the opening of the Bonhams Flagship Showroom for art Thursday night, "Leo and his mom rode up on their bikes and parked right in front on 57th and Madison," reports the NY Post.

Mother and Son looked at some pieces by Andy Warhol and Banksy before hopping back on their bikes and cruising back downtown.

'Desperate Housewives' cutie Eva Longoria and her hubby Tony Parker have hired contractors to make their new Texas home more environmentally friendly.

Their new property is made out of recycled wood and they're going to install solar panels, but they're still determined to make the house as green as possible.

She says, "Everything is going to be environmentally friendly. We are going to install solar panels for part of the house. All our water is recycled for the lawn for irrigation....

Paris Hilton is making a contribution to saving the environment. The heiress just changed all of the light bulbs in her house to energy-saving ones, and is even buying a hybrid car!

Hilton said she turns off the lights, doesn't leave the TV on or the water running when she leaves her house. The water running? Really? Now, if we can only get her to turn off the oven and the blender, we'll be in business!
