When you think ‘Glee’, you don’t usually think ‘horror.’ Well, maybe if you hate musicals.
But a handful of stars from ‘Glee’--including Lea Michele, Jayma Mays, and Dianna Agron--have teamed up to recreate some scenes from iconic Hollywood horror films. And the photos were shot for Elle magazine by none other than Glee co-creator, Ryan Murphy.
Michele, for example, poses in a scene from The Creature from the Black Lagoon, wearing a 50s style bathing suit while she’s being man-handled by a scary, lustful monster. And despite romance rumors, no, it’s not Ashton Kutcher.
"I am the biggest horror film fanatic,” Michele said regarding the shoot. “It's one of my favorite things to do, crawl up at home and watch a scary movie."
In another photo, Dianna Agron recreates ‘Attack of the 50 ft Woman’ in a pink-hued backdrop. Towering over city buildings, she grabs a car and makes her giant way through downtown, looking for her cheating husband, as the story goes. And no, still no Ashton.
Murphy calls Attack of the 50 ft Woman “sexy and glamorous. But no matter how you cut it—weird.”
Jayma Mays remakes a scene from The Birds, taking on the role of Tippi Hedren. Mays is featured on a motorboat, with a seagull behind her in mid-swoop.
“The movie is all about artifice; it looks very back dropped and stagey, but quite beautiful,” says Murphy.
Heather Morris is also featured in the spread, recreating a pose from Roman Polanski’s movie, Repulsion.
