Glee: More Darren Criss, Less Katie Couric

Next week’s Glee looks like a very promising episode now that Darren Criss is back! The show’s newbie has been getting a ton of buzz since his debut on Glee earlier this month.

Criss’ version of “Teenage Dream” shot up to #1 on iTunes immediately, and even Katy Perry gave him props. “Oh…My…Gosh…this just brought a sweet tear to my eye! Teenage Dream on GLEE makes my heart go WEEEE!” Katy tweeted.

In next week’s episode, New Directions goes to sectionals, facing off against Kurt, who has transferred to the private all-boys school, and subsequently, their Glee club.

Criss wows with yet another performance, this time taking on Train’s “Soul Sister.”

He’s a guest star I can get behind. But Katie Couric? Apparently the news anchor is being courted for the special Super Bowl episode. According to Deadline, Couric is to play herself in a scene with Jane Lynch.

Eh, don’t really see the point. Does Katie even sing? There are about a hundred other celebs we’d rather see on the show.
