Giuliana Rancic has had a hell of a year, and even though she’s beaten breast cancer, she’s not ready to pick up where she left off with her baby making plans--just yet.
“I’ve had to put my health before my baby dream,” Giuliana told the new issue of Life & Style. “My cancer diagnosis added another layer to it that we didn’t see coming.”
Giuliana discovered her breast cancer last September, right as she was about to undergo in vitro fertilization for the third time.
Giuliana then went through a successful double-mastectomy surgery, but doctors warned her that IVF can stimulate the growth of breast cancer cells. So unfortunately, women are recommended to be cancer-free for five years before they try the procedure.
Giuliana admits: “putting my baby dream on hold was devastating.” But she’s certainly not giving up. She told the mag:
“Whether you adopt or use a surrogate or have a child naturally, all that matters is you have a child, so we’re open to everything. We know that we’ll definitely have children one day.”
Hollyscoop asked the TV host if she has any plans to leave television to focus on health, and possibly start a family.
“Heck no!” Giuliana told Hollyscoop. “Are you kidding? Do you know how hard I worked to get on tv? I’m not going anywhere anytime soon…I love what I do!”
So although starting a family might be in the works, don’t expect Giuliana to disappear from your small screens anytime soon.
“We’re just taking it day by day,” Giuliana admitted to Life & Style. “The most important thing is to focus on my health.”
