Giuliana Rancic is expecting her first child via gestational surrogate at the end of August and is freaked out that she’s not going to be able to be there to witness the birth of her son.
Why? Because she’s working for E! news and reporting on the Olympics across the pond in London, but the Olympics are over like three weeks before the baby is due.
“The baby is due the end of August, and I wrap at the Olympics [in London] on August 11. So we are going to be on standby,” Giuliana Rancic told NBC’s Today show.
However, they have some time and shouldn’t be too worried. I mean, where does the baby go if Giuliana isn’t there for its birth? Hang out at the hospital? Check into a baby hotel?
“We think it’s going to be OK,” says Giuliana, “The doctor assured us. He thinks maybe even early September the baby will come.”
She also says that her husband Bill is already chomping at the bit to get the kid playing football, baseball, etc.
“It was funny because I told Bill, ‘You realize you can’t play ball with him for awhile?’ I think he thinks at six months they’re going to be playing catch. I’m like, ‘Honey, that doesn’t happen for a little while.’ He’s like, ‘I was waterskiing at three-years-old.’ I’m like, ‘Slow down, honey!’”
Anyways, with E! princess Giuliana as your mom, chances are that Bill and Giuliana's baby bambino is going to be pretty successful, or as Giuliana says, “[Bill’s] like, ‘I want an NFL quarterback. I’d like a CEO,’ but we compromised, and you know what? We’ll take healthy.”
