Giuliana and Bill Rancic announced they’re having a baby! Making an appearance on the "TODAY" show Monday, the beaming couple revealed they have chosen to use a gestational surrogate “after years of trying.”
The Rancic’s have publically shared their struggles with starting a family on their reality show, “Giuliana & Bill”, which is now in its fifth season on the Style network.
While undergoing infertility treatments, Giuliana, discovered she had breast cancer. Her discovery resulted in undergoing a double mastectomy.
Despite Giuliana's battle with cancer, the couple never gave up on wanting to have a child.
They began to explore their other options.
“Listen, at the end of the day, whether you have a baby naturally, through adoption or surrogacy, it’s your baby. You’re going to love that baby, and that’s all that matters,” said Giuliana at the time. Their commitment paid off.
"It was pretty much one of the best moments of my life, if not the best moment of my life," said an elated Giuliana, 37, of the moment she heard the news. "It was just another world, on another level."
Proud pappa Bill, 40, admits it was an emotional moment for him as well. “Because this was our last stop. I mean this was it. We had those two embryos that we had 'banked' prior to learning about the breast cancer. And with the medicine she’s going on, this was our last effort. The prayers were answered.”
Their “baby mama”, as Giuliana refers to her, lives out of state and is 20 weeks into the pregnancy. The couple continues to focus on sharing their positive message to fans.
The baby is due in late summer. They know if it’s a boy or a girl, but they’re not sharing that just yet!
