Gisele was reportedly "was so moved, she knew she had to do what she could to help." So she wrote a check for $1.5 million on Thursday to the Red Cross for its Haitian relief effort, a source close to the supermodel tells People.
Gisele earned more than $35 million dollars last year and she's married to Quarterback Tom Brady, so they can definitely afford the generous donation.
As Hollyscoop reported yesterday, George Clooney is going to host a telethon next Friday to raise funds for Haiti and Wyclef Jean has been working around the clock to raise funds as well.
"We have to raise a million dollars a day. In 4 or 5 days, this whole country is going to be in chaos," Wyclef said on Fox's Special Report with Bret Baier. "We are calling for a state of emergency. Please, President Obama, Secretary of State Hillary Clinton. We have to do something for this country."
Who else had donated? Madonna donated $250,000, Lance Armstrong also donated $250,000 and Brad and Angelina donated a cool $1 million.
Want to know how you can help too? Here's how:
- Text “Yele” to 501501 to donate $5 to Wyclef Jean’s Yéle Foundation
