Gerard Butler Charged With Assault on Photographer

Gerard Butler has been charged with assault for roughing up a photographer. Last October, Gerard was at a premiere party for the movie RockNRolla when a pap got a little too close for his comfort.

In between exiting Crown Bar in LA and heading to his limo, Butler allegedly punched the pesky pap a few times, splitting his lip open. His rep claims the photog was stalking him, and had chased him in the streets, even coming close to killing a pedestrian.

Butler now must show up in court on June 10th on misdemeanor criminal battery charges. If he’s convicted of the crime, he could face up to 6 months in jail.

Just another case of the crazy paparazzi! Actors seems to have had it with them lately!
