Rumor Patrol: George Clooney Edition

George Clooney

Believe it or not there are more rumors about George Clooney than any other A-lister in Hollywood. Most of the stories about him start in the UK press and beeline their way to the states overnight. Here are just a few Clooney rumors that have proven to be nothing more than just a rumor:

Clooney is Not Kidman's Baby's Godfather:
There were reports last week that Nicole Kidman had asked George to be the Godfather of her child but Clooney's rep says, "They are friends, but George was not asked to be the godfather."

Clooney is Not Returning to ER:
Don't hold your breath for that ER reunion, because it's not happening. He explains, "No, we never even talked about it. No one has ever asked me. It's the funniest thing. The story came out, and I was like, 'Where did that come from?' It was everywhere - I mean in one day!"

In regards to Clooney Offering Winehouse $1 Million to perform:
Rumor has it that Clooney has offered Amy Winehouse $1 million dollars to perform on May 5 at New York's Metropolitan Museum of Art Costume Institute. This is one of those reports that he hasn't confirmed or denied yet but Clooney is the kind of guy that would donate that money to DARFUR instead of spending it on talent. Don't ya think? Anyway, we're waiting for a response from his publicist.

Mr. Clooney: I am writing to tell you how full of respect I am for your endeavors. You have taken your well earned stardom and brought the world's important issues to the light. The quietness of Darfur and other areas which are living within a blight, no news coverage, world shaking relevance has been given a face. Thank you for that. I have always felt the need to give back. Whether those with no electricity during hurricane season, families in need, disabilities or the unsung heros I have always felt the importance of standing up and saying "look, earth and humans need our help, why are you just standing there..." You have shared this immediate need to help "repair our world" with your friends and the word is getting out. I always say it comes from childhood. Parents and family who care and share. Best of luck relating to the United Nations representative. I hope others jump on board. Linda North Miami Beach,Florida
