Last night during the 2012 SAG awards, veteran actress Mary Tyler Moore reveals she had a romantic encounter two years ago with George Clooney, in an elevator!
Say what?! For starters, a love connection in an elevator! This is JUST like those romantic comedies. Second…George Clooney is into older women? Noooo, wrong George Clooney.
Mary Tyler Moore took home the Life Achievement Award at the 2012 Screen Actors Guild Awards but during an interview with People magazine last night, she revealed she was more nervous about running into George Clooney again.
“I met George Clooney in a very small elevator, and he came over and he put his arms around me,” says the actress, “I think he said something like, ‘I love you.’ It was maybe two years ago. I am going to seek him out tonight.”
This is awesome. I love the idea of George Clooney randomly showering people with admiration in elevators. It’s equal parts bizarre and awesome.
Anyways, Moore says winning a Life achievement award is excellent because you don’t have to worry if you’ll win or not…you’re only there to win!
“It’s so hard to sit there with a smile on your face waiting for your name to be called,” says the 75-year-old actress, “When it’s not, you keep the smile on your face, and it’s just the dumbest thing. But tonight it was good because I knew I was going to win, so I wasn’t that nervous.”
Moore may have plans to seek out George Clooney during the show last night, but she says she’ll end up going to bed with her dogs. What? She said it.
“I just go home and hug my dogs,” she says of her plans for the after-party, “we have four of them, and they all sleep in the bed with us, or at least they try to.”
