The Emmy Awards are still weeks away but George Clooney is already a special winner.
George will be recognized for his humanitarian efforts for the "Hope for Haiti" TV special, which is nominated for an Emmy award.
He also has been extremely active in helping to increase awareness about genocide in Darfur. Yes, he's handsome, talented and giving!
John Shaffner, chairman and chief executive of the TV academy, said Clooney was "an obvious choice" for the award because he used the power of television to move people to act.
He's only the fourth person to receive the Bob Hope Award. Past winners have been Oprah Winfrey, Bill Cosby and actor-comic Danny Thomas.
Don't forget to watch the 62nd Primetime Emmy Awards on Aug. 29. Just in case you forgot, here's the list of this years nominees.
