George Clooney Emotional Over Pets Loss

Hollywood heartthrob George Clooney needs a big bear hug and the Hollyscoop girls are ready to give it to him. The "Sexiest Man Alive" is said to be really sad about the loss of his pot belly pig Max, who has lived with him for the last 18 years. The hottie put on a brave face last night at the LA premiere of his latest flick The Good German. We hear George got emotional when asked about how he was doing when the star revealed to People, "I'm good. I just got home this morning, or this afternoon, so it's strange not having him sitting on the carpet in the house, but, you know… sad, actually.

George was promoting his drama thriller when he heard his beloved pig had passed away. "He was as old a pig as the vets had ever seen," said the 45-year-old, who is still coming to terms with losing his unusual pet. "I was really surprised, because he's been a big part of my life." George bought Max for his then girlfriend Kelly Preston, but got custody of him after the pair split.

The pig who was referred to as "Max the star" was known to always squeal non-stop at him until he was fed in the morning. The pig was a big part of his life and was rumored to have caused a rift between George and former girlfriend Celine Balitran when the screen hunk refused to keep him outside. His only concession was to suggest banning Max from the bedroom and swimming pool, but apparently it was not enough to save the relationship.

George even credits Max with saving his life by waking him up before an earthquake, "About three minutes before, Max woke me up and kept nudging me, like he was trying to warn me. That's how smart he is." Is George ready to replace Max? Not a chance! The "Sexiest Man Alive" revealed, "I think Max covered all my pig needs." In regards to what he will miss most, Clooney said, "Oh, there are plenty of them. He got me in a lot of trouble that pig, in general, (and) scared the hell out of a lot of delivery people, too."
