George Clooney Defends Ex Elisabetta Canalis: She Never Sent Me Angry Text

It's pretty rare that George Clooney discusses his relationships. Well, unless it's repeating how he's never, ever going to get married. But other than that, he keeps pretty tight-lipped on his romantic life.

But George Clooney is coming to the defense of his ex, Elisabetta Canalis, who was rumored to have sent him angry text messages when he started dating Stacy Keibler publically.

In the current issue of Us Weekly, it's reported that Elisabetta has been sending both George and Stacy "nasty" text messages". Apparently, she was pissed off that she had to learn about George's new girlfriend through the media.

An insider said that Elisabetta "was embarrassed and upset", adding that "She sent those texts in the heat of the moment."

"It stung being dumped, and now he's taking Stacy everywhere," the source said.

But George Clooney came to her rescue, saying: "I never comment on my personal life unless it affects others...and this lie affects others,"

He then called out the mag, saying: "Since I would be the only actual witness, I ask you to correct your story immediately, but that would assume you cared at all about telling the truth."

Elisabetta's rep also said it wasn't true: "Us Weekly was informed that the details of their story were untrue - that Elisabetta and Stacy have never met and that she wasn't aware of who Stacy was prior to receiving multiple questions about their apparent relationship. She certainly has never sent her nasty texts either."

And come to think of it, how would Elisabetta have Stacy's phone number, anyway? And also, I'm pretty sure when George Clooney dumps a chick for talking about marriage, he gets a new phone number just in case.

But damn, this has not been a good week for Elisabetta. On Tuesday night, she was sent packing on Dancing With the Stars.

Her partner, Val Chmerkovskiy, talked to PEOPLE after the announcement, saying:

"There are a lot of challenges for everybody. There were huge challenges for her. We're a proud nation. We're a welcoming nation, but [Americans] have our own idols and our own fan base. This show is about people who have huge fan bases. We can't compete with that."

It was a really, really nice way of saying she can't dance and no one liked her. Some think the Kardashians are to blame for Elisabetta's axing, as both Kim and Khloe Tweeted about how she sucked. Companies pay the Kardashians thousands to advertise for them. So this makes me come to one conclusion. Nancy Grace paid the Kardashians to get Elisabetta booted from Dancing With the Stars. Hey, she whipped out a boob, she'll do anything.
