As thousands are feared dead in the aftermath of the massive Haiti earthquake, celebs like Brad Pitt, Angelina Jolie, Wyclef John, Lance Armstrong and George Clooney are joining forces to raise funds for the impoverished nation's people.
Clooney plans to host a telethon on MTV next Friday to help raise money for the nation, the Hollywood Reporter has confirmed. The telethon will reportedly air across MTV’s various networks, including VH1.
A rep for MTV confirmed the news to Hollycoop telling us, "I can confirm that George Clooney is working with MTV Networks to plan a Haiti relief telethon for next Friday, but those are the only details we can share at the moment. It's all still coming together."
According to Us Weekly, George has reached out to his celebrity pals and encouraged them to donate as well. His good friend Brad Pitt and partner Angelina Jolie have already pledged $1 million dollars. Lance Armstrong has donated $250,000 and Wyclef Jean is sending all donations from www.yele.org to Haiti.
Paris Hilton, Ben Stiller, Lindsay Lohan and Adam Lambert have also urged support for the earthquake survivors through posts on their Twitter pages. Every dollar counts, so please donate anything you can!
