June 25, 2008

George Clooney
Hollywood heavy-hitters George Clooney, Brad Pitt and Matt Damon have donated $500,000 to the Not On Our Watch organization to fund the aid efforts in Myanmar, Burma.

In a bid to help victims of Tropical Cyclone Nargis in Southeast Asia, the pair joined forces with Asian political figures to run a massive advertising campaign in an Indonesian newspaper. The ad basically urges neighboring countries to allow foreign aid workers into the region.

"Burma's neighbors have the power to help victims who remain desperately in need," reads the ad,

Leave it to Brad, George and Matt to actually make a difference in the world. Sexy, smart, and compassionate? No wonder everyone loves them!

I think it's good that they donated something but seriously, they make millions on each movie, they could have donated more!

I think its wonderful that they are trying to help. It's just one of the many things that they are involved in for others. How much have you done? Probably nothing at all! I think they are wonderful...Esp. George, I guess I am smitten as many others are....He is always listening, getting together with his friends and trying to make the world better for those who have no voices. Why should they donate anonymously? Perhaps they have friends and fans that will help out if they hear about the fact that the three of them are involved. Quit being such a spoil sport.

$500,000 that's it?!! between all of them? A bunch of cheap asses is more like it! Why can't they ever donate without announcing it? seriously, they do it all the time. Whenever they seem to be in need of positive attention, they open up the wallet ever so slightly! Ever hear of donating anonymously?! they should try it sometime.
