Gene Simmons Marries Shannon Tweed
The bass player for KISS, Gene Simmons, who once said he would never marry, has walked down the aisle with his girlfriend of 28 years, Shannon Tweed.

After 28 years of being together, who really cares about marriage, but whatever, Simmons has made an honest woman of Shannon Tweed.

They tied the knot on Saturday evening on the Crystal Lawn at the Beverly Hills Hotel in front of nearly 400 guests.

Guests included Hugh Hefner, Bill Maher, Duane “Dog the Bounty Hunter” Chapman, and various members of KISS.

Hugh Hefner actually dated Shannon Tweed in 1981, and by dated, meant that he gave her a weekly stipend and allowed her to have sex with him. He tweeted at the event, “The Gene Simmons-Shannon Tweed wedding was a very romantic, family affair.”

A Weird tweet for the Gene Simmons wedding, who has supposedly slept with over 2,000 women, a number that is simultaneously disgusting and impressive.

Bill Maher jokingly tweeted, “At the Gene Simmons-Shannon Tweed wedding, a dog just walked down the aisle ahead of the bride so it’s a good start.”

The couple have two adult children together, Nick, 22, and Sophie, 19, who was also the maid of honor. Gene’s KISS bandmate, guitarist Paul Stanley was a member of the wedding party. The couple had their first dance to the Etta James song, “As Last.”

Gene proposed to Shannon in July while on vacation in Belize and the moment was aired on the season finale of the A&E reality show, “Gene Simmons Family Jewels,” which is the most confusing show title ever, for several seasons I thought it was a show about a family that owned a jewelry shop together.

When Gene proposed, he gushed, “I come with so much baggage, but you’re the only friend I’ve got, you’re the only one I’ve ever loved, you’re the only one I love, and the only one I ever will love. I’ve never said those words to anybody, and I don’t ever wanna…it’s funny, I used to watch movies where they say, ‘I can’t live without you,’ but for me it’s true.”

Awww! Cue the fireworks, cue the doves flying out from under the awnings, cue the cake that turns into a stripper!

The wedding will also be featured on the new season of “Family Jewels” which premieres tomorrow night. The wedding episode will air on October 18.

Shannon Tweed appeared in Playboy magazine in the 1980’s and had a number of roles in low budget thriller movies like “Cannibal Women in the Avocado Jungle of Death,” which sounds like an awesome movie for anyone who is both stoned and hungry.
