A rep for Coleman released this statement: "Thanks to everyone for their well wishing and support during this tragic time. Now that Gary has passed, we know he will be missed because of all the love and support shown in the past couple of days. Gary is now at peace and his memory will be kept in the hearts of those who were entertained by him throughout the years."

When he was admitted, Utah Valley Regional Medical Center John Alcantar representative said, "We are saddened to announce that since mid-afternoon, Mountain Time, on May 27, 2010, Mr. Coleman has been unconscious and on life support."

"At this critical moment, we can only ask for your thoughts and prayers for Gary to make a speedy and full recovery," he added.

And it's not the first time he's been hospitalized this year. In February he suffered a seizure and had to be rushed to the hospital. Last fall, Coleman had heart surgery complicated by pneumonia.

Gary is best known for his role as Arnold Jackson on Diff'rent Strokes, portraying a child adopted by a wealthy widower. The show was broadcast from 1978 to 1986, and was a huge success. At the height of his fame he earned as much as $100,000 per episode.

Coleman also had a string of financial and legal problems. In 1989, Coleman sued his parents and former manager over misappropriation of his $3.8 million trust fund. He won a $1,280,000 ruling on February 23, 1993. Coleman later filed for bankruptcy in 1999.

Coleman moved to Utah in 2005 to star in the movie "Church Ball," and met his wife Shannon Price on set. He married her in 2007.

Last year Coleman's wife, Shannon, was arrested near the couple's Utah home for domestic battery and disorderly conduct. They appeared on TV's Divorce Court on May 1 and May 2, 2008, but never divorced. Dennis Hopper Dead
