Friends

It's been six years since the hit TV show wrapped up, but Friends is still the most watched TV show of the decade.

According to the Hollywood Reporter, the show's 2004 finale is the highest-rated broadcast in America since 2000. 52.5 million viewers tuned in to watch Rachel, Monica, Joey, Chandler, Phoebe and Ross say goodbye.

The series, which launched the careers of Jennifer Aniston and Courteney Cox, ran for a decade between 1994 and 2004.

Friends took the cake but Survivor came in at a close second with 51.7 million viewers. Believe it or not Joe Millionaire was third with its 2003 show getting an audience of 40 million.

E.R., American Idol, Grey's Anatomy, Frasier and Spin City also made the top ten list. What was your favorite Friends episode?
In the words of Chandler, we soooo didn’t want to hear this! Former Friends star Lisa Kudrow has put the brakes on the rumor that the cast was planning on coming together for a reunion.

Phoebe was a guest at the P.S. Arts Express Yourself event in Santa Monica this weekend, and sadly put the reunion rumors to rest. "Everyone is busy!" she said.

But Lisa did note that the biggest objectors are the show's original writer-creators Marta Kauffman and David Crane. " I guess they don't think it's a good idea," she said.

Kudrow at least got to see one of her former cast mates recently, however. She just shot an episode of Cougar Town, which stars Courteney Cox. “It was really fun!" Kudrow told Us. "God, Courteney is fantastic! She is so funny. I had such a fun time.”

We wish the creators would change their mind! Look at what happened with Sex and the City! We’d pay $10 too see all six Friends back together!

Could hit sitcom Friends finally become a movie? We’ve heard the rumors before, but this time, they just might be true! The Daily Mail claims all six of the main stars--Jennifer Aniston, 40, Courteney Cox, 45, Lisa Kudrow, 46, Matt LeBlanc, 42, Matthew Perry, 40, and David Schwimmer, 42—have agreed to a big screen adaptation.

This would be the first time they’ve all been reunited since 2004. The publication reports that Warner Brothers is prepared to pay each of the stars a fortune to reprise their roles. By the time Friends wrapped, each of them were making $1 million an episode. That’s one pricy sitcom!

The studio has also reportedly gotten show creators David Crane and Marta Kauffman on board to write and produce the film, due in theaters in the summer of 2011.

James Michael Tyler, who played Gunther says the movie is definitely on. He says, “I still keep in touch with a lot of the cast and they say that they are really keen.”

They probably saw the great numbers the Sex and the City movie drew in--$408,921,925—and figured it was a good idea! We’re keeping our fingers crossed for the gang to reunite at Central Perk!

If there was any hope of a Friends reunion, David Schwimmer just shot those down!

He tells Parade magazine, "I'd like to say in regard to the rumors that - I think are only perpetuated by the press - there's never been any talk of a Friends film, at least as far as I know.

"The series is definitely not a part of my daily consciousness until either a fan comes up or I'm asked about it in some interview. It is like having a relative visit because it's been more than four years since really we all were in the same room even."

Well guess that's that!
We won't be seeing America's favorite friends hit the big screen after all. After rumors that the cast was reuniting for a movie, more than one cast mate shot them down. Boo!

"Nothing is happening in this regard," said Matthew Perry's rep in a statement. "The rumor is false."

David Schwimmer's publicist also chimed in, saying, "There's been no discussion about it."

And perhaps the most famous friend of all, Jennifer Aniston, was the nail in the coffin. Her rep said that his client was unaware of any such project, and who questioned why she would have any interest in revisiting her sitcom days.

It's probably a good idea. What would the plot line be? More Rachel and Ross drama? Smelly cat cameo? As much as we loved the show, we're glad they're keeping it just as that…a show.
It's the year of the comeback! The success of Sex and the City: The Movie is opening the door for retired TV shows to make a comeback. The cast of Friends are considering getting back together at the coffee shop--but for the big screen.

Cast members Jennifer Aniston, Courteney Cox, Matthew Perry, Matt LeBlanc, Lisa Kudrow and David Schwimmer will reprise their roles for a big-screen adaptation 'within the next 18 months', according to the Daily Mail.

"Timing and the script are really important, but now that Courteney and Jen both have production companies, they can potentially get very involved in those decisions."

The source added: "As the biggest star of the Friends franchise, Jennifer can't help but look at what's happened with Sarah Jessica Parker and the Sex And The City film and be a little jealous.

'What's held back a Friends movie so far is that people were worried that Jennifer had simply become too famous to play Rachel again."

Hell no, she's not too famous to play Rachel! Playing Rachel was the best thing Jennifer Aniston did with her life. We don't know about you guys, but we're stoked about the movie adaptation.

Courteney Cox doesn't seem too upset about her show Dirt being cancelled, because as she says, there are a lot of production things in the works. And if we're lucky, one of those deals may be a movie version of Friends! Courteney already has David Schwimmer, Matthew Perry, Lisa Kudrow and Matt LeBlanc on board.

Now all she needs is Jennifer Aniston. That shouldn't be too tough to convince her. They are best friends, and Jen seems to be in a good place right now, with work and her personal life, thanks to John Mayer!

In the words of Chandler, a Friends movie would SOOO get us to the theater! Would you want to see the cast reunite for a movie?

Ever since the ‘Sex and the City’ comeback, everyone’s been wondering if other shows like ‘Friends’ will make a comeback.

When asked for a possible reunion, Courtney Cox responded saying, "I don't think so…But I would never say 100 percent no."

Most cast members have already squashed chances at a possible reunion but I’m sure if the money’s right everyone will be on board.
