What would life be without denim? That is a question we ask ourselves
everyday since denim has become a uniform in our lives. However, it's
always hard to find the right pair of denim that could give your contours
the right touch. Designers are starting to take notice of this problem and
focusing less on designs and embellishments.
While at New York Fashion week, I caught up with designer
Mik
Serfontaine who was showcasing his latest designs
X Fit Lycra
at the LYCRA lounge. Mik Serfontaine revealed that Lycra is a secret tool
used by top designers to bring exceptional fit, shape and comfort to their
garments. Now it seems like Lycra is moving into the world of denim as the
need for denim with a good fit is becoming more demanding.
The X Fit Lycra Spring '07 collection is already becoming a big hit with
Hollywood heavyweights
Eva Longoria,
Jennifer Aniston and
Carmen Electra who love the way the denim delivers multidimensional
360 degree comfort and fit.
When asked about the difference between regular denim and the Lycra denim
Mik said, "
Its more comfortable, and it gives you the look and freedom
you want in a jean". The great things about the Lycra jeans is that it
sculpts your body so there is no need to get a size smaller for the right
look. Mik also revealed to me that Spring is going to be all about
simplicity so no studs, designs, faded wash looks on jeans.
