Paris Fashion Week Wrap Up

July 06, 2007

Paris Fashion week was full into effect and here’s a recap of what to expect from the city that invented fashion. For Fall it’s not about minimal clothing, simplicity but the contrary extravagance and bold colors. As Hollyscoop viewed the collections of the top designers there is only one conclusion we can assert, designers dug deep into the History books or Disney Fairy Tale flicks for their latest creations.

Dior:(picture above)
John Galliano definitely thought of the Renaissance period as his dresses were fit for any Shakesperian novel, or he probably got drunk while watching “Marie Antoinette” and was influenced by the movies costume.

John Galliano
For his own line John was thinking Robin Hood but minus the “men in tights”. You can say it was more like women in tights.

Chanel
Karl Lagerfeld was probably thinking about “Sleeping Beauty” when he designed his collection for the French line. We honestly can’t imagine Karl’s latest muses Lily Allen or Fergie sporting these gowns on stage.

Christian Lacroix
We are pretty sure Leonardo da Vinci’s “Virgin Mary” painting was an influence for his collection.

Givenchy
Designer Riccardo Tisci created a futuristic take on the amazons of Greek mythology for his Fall collection. Don’t know about the Greek mythology part but we did feel like we were on Broadway watching “The Lion King”.

Great, more shit from Paris! Who the hell in their right minds would wear this garbage? AND maybe no one should be getting political over fashion, but I have to agree, France is a bunch of wuss bags!

actually i am happy france didnt go to IRaq. Its not their fault our president is a complete idiot who decided to go to war for his own personal gain. Why should other countries follow? the UK did and that was a HUGE mistake.
10:32PM 07/06/07 why go political

It's more like ballet costume design, than fashion. They're beautiful though!

The top pic looks more like it's from the 18th Century...Marie Antoinette. Not sure about the gal with the lyre on her head. John Galliano's stuff is odd..Peter Pan on one side,Prince Charming on the other. The Chanel/Lagerfield stuff is more reminiscent of the Renaissance style.Christian Lacroix...looks like stuff out of the "nightmare before Christmas" or the "Corpse Bride". What's going on with those eyes..geeze! Givenchy , well that is just nasty looking. I like the Lagerfield/Chanel stuff the best.

why glamorize paris hollyscoop and put them in the news. this is the same country that went democratic when it came to the fight against iraq and left our american soldiers to fight alone after we fought for them in world war 2. france is a bunch of political homos.
