L.A. Fashion week is officially here and being the true fashionistas that we are, we couldn’t be more excited. We had the hottest ticket in town to view the Louis Verdad Spring ’07 Collection at the Smash Box Studios.
As soon as we entered the building we sighted Diana Ross, Caroline De`Amore and the latest addition to the cast of “Grey’s Anatomy”, Sara Ramirez(who looked stunning).
At the show we spotted Randy Jackson, Alexis Bledel, Garcelle Beauvais-Nilon, Izabella Miko (who walked the catwalk with Louis Verdad himself) and basketball star Reggie Miller (who was extremely nice and sweet to us).
Now on to the fashion show! The dominant colors for Louis Verdad’s Spring ’07 line were ivory, grey and pastel pink. From the hair styles of the models to the look of the outfits, it was a definite 60’s retreat bringing nostalgic memories of Audrey Hepburn in Breakfast at Tiffany’s.
The common look on the runway was the oversized pearl necklaces (by Tara Tarantino), the silhouette gowns, modern kimonos, soft woven fabric tight dresses and the popular accented waistline as the strong focal point. I believe with this spring collection Louis didn’t ignore the strong working woman. We saw a lot of pantsuits, professional jackets and three-piece suit wear.
Although most of the outfits would be grand for the working woman, Louis also had Young Hollywood in mind. Many of his short dresses with plunging backlines, long flowy sleeves will be popular among Hollywood teen elite as they walk the red carpet to the hottest events. Overall, I loved the show and think Louis definitely opened Fashion Week with a big bang.
After the show, we headed out to 944 Magazine’s Meghan fashion show after party at the infamous Roosevelt Hotel’s Tropicana bar. The scene was intense with hot models frolicking all over the place. The attending celebrities were Rex Lee ( Entourage ), Chudney Ross, Jason Davis and Nightlife guru Dean May. Over all it was a great party and a fantastic way for us to start L.A. Fashion week. Keep checking for updates everyday as we attend all the hottest fashion shows and parties in L.A!
Special shout out to Carly Harrill from 944 Magazine, Monica Otero, Sheryl Tan, and Jay Dues who is a U.S. Navy Pilot and is off to war today. May he return back home safely!
