It was a “ Hollywood Affair” last night as we took our seats for the Dina Bar-el Spring 2007 runway collection. Sitting only feet away from us was Angela Bassett, Vanessa Williams, Ashley Bensen, Erika Schaefer, Kiersten Warren and Lisa Edelstein. The big surprise of the night was when “McPhee Fever” was brought to the show as American Idol finalist Katharine McPhee walked the runway in a Dina Bar-El gown with the designer herself.

The show felt like we were at a Hollywood award show and all that was missing was an Oscar. The glamorous gowns were flowing so elegantly on the catwalk.

For spring, Dina revealed a lot of 3-quarter length skintight satin gowns. Colors ranged from black, gold, yellow, turquoise and pastel pink. What was interesting was most of the gowns were a mix of materials of satin and lace. Dina displayed satin gowns with long tails with high slit. We think the biggest trend in spring is going to be animal print, especially the zebra print. It was prevalent for casual wear at the Frankie B. show and the same trend was used for formal wear last night at the Dina Bar-el show.
