Ryan O'Neal and Alana Stewart Speak Out About Farrah's Death

Best known for her role on Charlie's Angels, Farrah Fawcett, the former pinup has passed away at 62 after a long battle with cancer.

Farrah succumbed to her long battle with anal cancer this morning at Saint John’s Hospital in Santa Monica at 9:28AM, announced longtime companion Ryan O'Neal.

In a statement released to Hollyscoop.com, Ryan O’Neal said, “After a long and brave battle with cancer, our beloved Farrah has passed away. Although this is an extremely difficult time for her family and friends, we take comfort in the beautiful times that we shared with Farrah over the years and the knowledge that her life brought joy to so many people around the world.”

Farrah's longtime friend Alana Stewart added to Hollyscoop, “There are no words to express the deep sense of loss that I feel. For thirty years Farrah was much more than a friend, she was my sister, and although I will miss her terribly I know in my heart that she will always be there as that angel on the shoulder of everyone who loved her.”

Farrah Fawcett is survived by her son with Ryan O’Neal, Redmond, and her father James. In lieu of flowers the family has asked that donations to support cancer research be made to:
