Katey Sagal on 'Sons of Anarchy': 'It Feels Good to Be Acknowledged'

‘Sons of Anarchy’ remains one of FX’s most popular shows, with viewers tuning in each week to see what happens to Gemma and Jax.

But despite being one of television’s most buzzworthy shows, Sons of Anarchy has yet to win an Emmy. They have, however, nabbed a Golden Globe.

Hollyscoop caught up with the show’s star, Katey Sagal, at the 2012 Paleyfest Honors Sons of Anarchy event.

“I don’t know what to think about [not winning an Emmy],” Katey told Hollyscoop. “Having won a Golden Globe…was fabulous…It really feels good to be acknowledged. So it would be lovely if that happened, and it's also okay if it doesn't. I've done this for so many years that it doesn't matter. It's a nice thing if it happens and if it doesn't, it doesn't.”

Creator Kurt Sutter explained the appeal of Sons of Anarchy for both men and women.

“There's an action and testosterone component that draws in a lot of men and women as well, for what that is. I also think the family dynamics and the camaraderie and the heart of the show brings in fans,” Kurt told Hollyscoop.

While Katey’s talents are undeniable and she’s had a resurgence since both Sons of Anarchy and lending her voice for Futurama, we can’t help but remember her role in Married With Children.

“It gave me my big break,” Katey tells Hollyscoop. “I would never change it for anything.”

So…can we expect a Married with Children reunion anytime soon?

“Well they talk about it,” Katey told us. “And somebody brings it up at least once a year. I don’t want to say never…we’ll be very old by the time they decide.”

But good news: “If they did, of course I would be open to it.”

That’s all we need to hear.
