But in a lot of cases, it seems like actresses mix lesbianism with their sexuality to garner publicity. Just like the straight girl at a party who makes out with another chick because she’s desperate for attention, actresses seem to do the same thing.
The public likes girl on girl action. And if you don't believe me, this must be your first time on the internet. You can be moderately talented, but just say you've kissed a girl, and you'll be performing at the Grammys in front of video of your wedding to Russell Brand.
It's easy to become a hot commodity, so how many celebs flirt with lesbianism just to get attention?
Lindsay Lohan, for example, announced in 2008 that she “might” be a lesbian. Looking back, it was obvious her and SamRo had as real a relationship as Lindsay has ever had, but back then, Lohan didn’t have much going on, career-wise. The best way to stay relevant? Make a shocking statement about how you’ve graduated from Disney films to lesbianism.
It might not directly get them more work, but a star’s sexuality can at least help them stay in the headlines. But if the public realizes the declaration is just a publicity stunt, they’ll soon find themselves in Anne Heche territory.
When Heche dated Ellen Degeneres in 1997, their relationship was front-page news. After their breakup, rumors of her using lesbianism and a relationship with Ellen to gain publicity surfaced. Anne tried to distract us with a meltdown, but it didn’t help much. Any momentum she gained in the nineties soon fizzled out.
We all know stars like to draw attention to themselves when they’ve got nothing else going on. From wearing vials of blood to shaving their heads…it’s just what celebrities do. When stars come out of the closet legitimately, it’s empowering to homosexuals and helps our society to evolve and become more accepting. But when they fake it to get attention, it’s just tacky.

Maybe that’s general knowledge, but my vocabulary certainly got more colorful today. And I'm already thinking of how I can use the word "Merkin" to make fun of Donald Trump's hair.

Creepy Marilyn and Evan called off their engagement last week and he didn't waste any time getting back in the game.
He was spotted hanging out with some pals at Boudoir in Hollywood on Saturday night and according to X17online, he went home with a Evan/Dita look-alike.
"They just broke off their engagement, and he needed a night out with friends," a source tells People magazine.
They began dating in 2006 but have had a half dozen breakups ever since. He proposed to her in Paris in January (2010), but their engagement didn't last long. Evan can do so much better, so maybe this breakup is a blessing in disguise.

But then scheduling conflicts got in the way for Evan, causing her to second guess her commitment to the Broadway show. But Moviefone has just confirmed that Evan is indeed on board as Mary Jane, and has pulled out of another movie to make things work. The website reports Wood has quit Zach Snyder’s Sucker Punch.
Evan also spoke with Sci Fi Wire about the upcoming Braoadway show, saying, "We're still looking for our Spider-Man, but it's going to be incredible. I just spoke with [director] Julie [Taymor] today, actually. It's going to be a crazy rock 'n' roll circus show. Julie's doing what she did with The Lion King to this: She's just taking it to a whole 'nother level."
Who could her co-star be?? They need a young Hollywood actor who can sing and act. They’d better not ask Zac Efron, because he’s over musicals. But maybe Chace Crawford wouldn’t mind doing a Broadway stint after he’s done taking Zac’s leftovers in the Footloose remake!
Evan excitedly told Hollyscoop of her award, "I’ve been doing this for 16 years so I am a veteran Young Hollywood.”
It’s not only her work that’s creating a lot of buzz but her personal life as well.
Evan first made tabloid headlines when she was linked to Marilyn Mansion in 2006 following the breakdown of his marriage to burlesque star Dita Von Teese.
There were recent reports that suggested Evan and Marilyn had rekindled their romance, however it seems like that romance has now fizzled. Reports claim that Evan has moved on from Marilyn and is now getting cozy with actor Shane West.
The couple was first spotted enjoying an intimate embrace while out with friends at Tao nightclub in Las Vegas. This past Saturday Evan and Shane were seen hand-in-hand entering club Bardot to celebrate Shane’s birthday party.
When asked about her relationship with Shane West last night, Evan said, “I think you can put two and two together I wont confirm or deny it but I don’t think I have to.”
These two actually make a cute couple! We're happy for the two of them.

Evan Rachel Wood will be joining the cast of the wildly popular cult series True Blood on HBO. Apparently show dreator Alan Ball was very keen on getting her for the part.
According to Entertainment Weekly, Wood will play the role of Sophie-Anne, the vampire queen of Louisiana. That’s no joke!
The role of Sophie is described as a 500-year old vampire from France who is as wise and charming as she is ruthless. Evan’s episodes will air towards the end of the show’s upcoming second season.
No word on the renewal of season three yet. But with the way the vampire phenomenon keeps growing, we’re sure this show will come back for a 3rd season. And if it’s renewed, we hear Evan will reprise her role again.

"It's a way to escape everyday life for a few hours" says festival founder Jane Rosenthal, who joined Robert DeNiro, Spike Lee, and Uma Thurman this morning to kick off the festival festivities.
Robert DeNiro predicts that this year "will be the best yet" and he says that he is "happy with the way it is going. The festival is in a great place."
Indeed... this week will have a lot of great moments with big names such as Spike Lee making his festival debut and Woody Allen opening up the twelve day run with tomorrow's Premier of Whatever Works starring Patricia Clarkson, Larry David, and Evan Rachel Wood.
Uma Thurman has "been hoping, wishing to join this festival since the beginning." Today she announced a slew of celebrity jurors including herself, Meg Ryan, Whoopi Goldberg, Adrien Brody, Parker Posey, Debra Messing, James Franco and Mary-Kate Olsen.
Bringing all of this attention to NYC helps the economy, particularly downtown restaurants and shops. With the recession in place Jane hopes that the films bring a lot of "laughter" and she is proud to say that there "are more free community events. They opened up more panels and conversations that are free," in addition to staples such as the ESPN Sports Day and The Tribeca Drive In.
Of course the recession has affected the festival. "When you look around everything is a little leaner, but if we can't do as many films we can still do what we do. We are really honored," said Jane Rosenthal.
