Eva Mendes Buys Rights To Favorite Novels

Eva Mendes is one smart cookie. Eva admits that she buys the rights to her favorite novels so she can play the lead role if the novels are adapted for the big screen.

She says, "I want to bring certain meatier female roles to life, so every time I read a really interesting book, I buy the rights.

"As an actress, that's the way it has to go, otherwise I won't get the right roles, and then what? Am I going to sit here and complain? I will complain anyway, but I might as well do something and complain."

Not only is she gorgeous and talented, she's a savvy business woman as well. Talk about a triple threat!
