Eva Longoria: I Was an Ugly Duckling

It's hard to imagine Wisteria Lane's sultriest star as anything but sexy, but Eva Longoria claims she used to be the "ugly duckling" in her family when she was growing up.

Speaking on Richard and Judy, she said: "I was the darkest one of my family. I was the only one with black hair and the only one with dark skin.

"All my sisters were light blondes with hazel eyes. They used to call me ugly duckling."

"I grew up without being beautiful so I kind of relied on my personality and my character. I kind of developed a skill not to depend on anything superficial because I didn't have anything superficial to depend on," she added.

She went on to say that she used to get teased and bullied at school for her looks. But look who has the last laugh now! Work it Eva, we love you girl!

good god i am sick of hearing her ugly duckling story. she brings it up in parctically every interview she gives.... Its always the same story "i was so ugly as a kid but now I'm so gorgeous so everything is fine".... get over yourself woman. Modesty isn't her strong point

First off, she said she used to be called the ugly duckling b/c she didn't have fair skin and light eyes like her sisters. When someone like your parents tell you you're ugly, you start to believe it, even though it may not be true. She was young and impressionable. You can't fault her for what she thought back then. Also, for your information, most people of different culture favor fair skin over the darker complexion. It's been happening for years people.
