Eva Longoria Parker is one busy girl, with a hit TV show, movies and a popular restaurant (Beso) on her belt. She might work around the clock, but she always makes time for events that have special meaning for her.
Hollyscoop.com hit the “Desperate Housewives” set at Universal Studios where Eva held a press conference on Wisteria Lane along with DWTS hottie Christian de la Fuente to announce the nominees for the 2008 ALMA awards.
Eva Longoria will be taking on the role of Executive Producer, Host and spokesperson. The all-star event celebrates the outstanding artistic achievements of Latinos in motion pictures, television and music.
Eva might be a triple threat, but don’t expect a nomination for this star. Eva confirmed that she took her name out of the nomination ballot.
In an interview with Hollyscoop.com Eva said, “I take my name out every year. I am involved with the balloting, selection process, so for me it was a conflict of interest.”
Eva added, “Alma awards are inclusive we want to include everyone mainstream, Latinos, anybody that has contributed to pop culture, some of the performers and presenters include Jessica Alba, America Ferrera, Fergie, the Black Eyed Peas, Ryan Seacrest among others.”
The award show will mark its 10th anniversary and Eva mentioned how she’s come a long way since she started her career in Hollywood 10 years ago as a seat filler for the ALMA awards show.
The Alma Awards will air on Friday, September 12 (8:00-10:00 p.m., ET), on the ABC. U
