Jim Carrey Explains Creepy Emma Stone Love Letter Video

I've been having nightmares about Jim Carrey ever since he released that video of him professing his love for Emma Stone. Everyone else seemed to be, too, because now Carrey is offering an explanation.

He took to Twitter to address the video:

"Yes, my msg to Emma Stone was a comedy routine and the funniest part is that everything I said is tru. People often ask me if I'm being funny or serious. The answer is 'YES'. ?;^]"

So basically, he wants to hit on someone half his age but also wants to hide it under the guise of being a joke.

I want to laugh, I really do. I love Jim Carrey, but—you know that feeling when you have a friend who says incredibly offensive stuff, and you bring him around your other friends, and he says some crazy sh-t and you try to laugh it off and pretend he's just joking, but it becomes painfully obvious he's just crazy? That's how I feel about this Jim Carrey video.

I started watching it and was like, "Ha, ha, oh Jim Carrey, you're so cute." And as it progressed, I was like, "Oh…Jim…stop being so silly." And then finally, "I don’t know this guy."

In the video, Carrey said:

"I just wanted to let you know that I think you're all the way beautiful. Not just pretty, but, you know, smart and kindhearted. And if I were a lot younger, I would marry you, and we would have chubby little freckled faced kids."

So many people were trying to watch this video, it crashed Carrey's site. A rep for the actor told Access Hollywood:

"It's a comical love letter."

Andrew Garfield better watch his back.

Garfield and Stone are rumored to be dating, but they haven't confirmed it officially. The two were spotted having dinner in Malibu together last night. Both star in the upcoming flick, The Amazing Spiderman.

"It was amazing to do the big action superhero movie,” Stone says of her role as Gwen Stacy. “But to me, this ‘Spider-Man’ actually feels very down to earth. It’s a love story for my character, a simple love story told in the midst of this big, big world.”

And as for that infamous upside-down kiss, Stone says:

“New girl. New kiss. I wanted to do different kisses to make our mark.”

And as far as Carrey's "love letter", Emma says she "doesn’t know whether to be flattered or seriously worried" by his comments.

I'm gonna go with worried.
