Emma Stone. biography
Born Emily Jean Stone on November 6, 1988, in Scottsdale, Arizona, Emma Stone initiated her acting career with an appearance in a youth theatre production of The Wind in the Willow at the age of 11.
Emma then performed in a comedy troupe while attending a Catholic high school before dropping out and moving to Los Angeles to pursue acting fulltime in 2004.
That same year, Emma landed her first on-screen role as a contestant on the reality competition pilot In Search of the New Partridge, which she ended up winning. Although the show never got picked up, it gave Emma the confidence boost she needed and in result, led to appearances in multiple hit TV programs such as Medium (2005) and Malcolm in the Middle (2006).
Emma got her big break playing Jules in the box office hit comedy Superbad (2007) alongside Jonah Hill and Michael Cera. The role officially launched Emma to stardom and guided her to supporting roles in the comedies The Rocker (2008), House Bunny (2008) alongside Anna Faris, Ghosts of Girlfriends Past (2009) with Jennifer Garner and Matthew McConaughey, and Zombieland (2009) alongside Woody Harrelson.
In 2010, Emma made her leading role debut in the romantic comedy Easy A, further establishing her as a talented comedic actress. She went on to appear in the romantic comedies Friends with Benefits (2011) and Crazy, Stupid, Love (2011) with Steve Carell prior to giving a well-received performance in the award-winning drama The Help (2011).
The following year, Emma entered the world of big budgets with a supporting role opposite Andrew Garfield in the superhero franchise The Amazing Spider-Man.
Emma’s most recent projects include, the crime drama Gangster Squad (2013) alongside Sean Penn and Ryan Gosling, the comedy Movie 43 (2013), the animated comedy The Croods (2013) and The Amazing Spider-Man 2 (2014).
