Ellen Might Not Like Dogs

Celebrity Feuds

Last week, there was all this drama concerning Ellen Degeneres and her dog Iggy. Ellen had given the dog away and when the agency found out they flipped.

Now there are reports that it wasn’t the first time Ellen has given a dog away.

Los Angeles producer, Kerri Randles gave Ellen a dog two years ago only to find out that she had given it away to a staff member two months later.

"She may have had it for much less time than that. I only say two months because that's when I called to check on the dog and found out she no longer had it," Randles said. "I was totally shocked. I thought she was out of her mind."

So that’s makes dog #2 that Ellen has given away. Howard Stern, however, said on his Sirius show that giving away dogs might actually be a habit because she had done it nine times before.

Ellen, just face it you are not a dog person. Stick to cats!

I believe that she has some kind of "rescue" complex and that she wants to believe she's saving animals. She never struck me as wrapped too tight.

It might not have been the proper timing for Ellen to have a dog or it might have not been the right dog, but at least she sort out a good home for Iggy where she knew that he would be loved and treasured. I think that you have to be one heartless bitch to go into someones home the way mutts and mom's did, and that they should be shutdown for what they did to that family and to Ellen. I've seen places that run the same way Mutts and Mom's does charging a significant amount of money to adopt a pet in the first place, and then charging the orignal owner of the pet that wants to put the pets up for adoption money to have it fixed, and then also charging the adoptee a fee as well to have them fixed so these companies are making twice the money for off of each pet and no one has a clue. That's if one of these animals could even afford to be adopted by a family. If not then they grow up living a cage. Which is not right. Animals need to roam, explore, and need to know that they are loved and cared for.

The biggest problem I have is the overly emotional way that Ellen behaved on her show when first relaying the story about Iggy. I thought something very tragic had happened, like a sudden death of a loved one or a diagnosis of a terminal illness. As much a the Iggy situation may have been sad for Ellen, I think she should have handled it more maturely, and not taken adavantage of her audiences emotions the way she did. Is there no such thing as people handling their problems and disagreements privately anymore? Someone with Ellen's money, popularity and influence should be more careful about what they share and how they share it, because things involving them can easily get blown out of proportion in the media and insight irrational behaviour (such as death threats). I am a big fan of Ellen. She's funny and does a lot of good things. This situation won't change my overall opinion of her, but I hope she uses better judgement in the future.
