Last night, Ellen Degeneres made her debut on American Idol. And you’d think she’d been on the show for years the way she fit right in! She began the show by having a chat with Ryan Seacrest, and then telling him she wasn’t even listening to him.
Former producer of 'American Idol' Nigel Lythgoe knew that Ellen would be great. Speaking to Hollyscoop, Lythgoe said: "I think there is going to be a new form of magic, she will cope very well with Simon. She will be the voice of the people, and give her opinion as a person without any musical background."
Then she was a pro at the judge’s table! We feared she’d be too nice, but Ellen had more opinions than Randy Jackson and Kara DioGuardi! She wasn’t afraid to put certain contestants in their place, as well as offer compliments when they were deserved.
If you missed her last night, here’s a sneak peek of Ellen’s first night on Idol! How do you think she held up?
