Ryan Seacrest forked up some dough for his new crib.

The “American Idol” host has purchased the Beverly Hills home of Ellen DeGeneres. Ellen’s mansion was listed at $49 million and Seacrest reportedly paid close to the asking price.

According to TMZ, the place is not so much a house as it is a palace.

Word around the water cooler is that NBC’s “Whitney” star Whitney Cummings nabbed herself a new talk show “Love You, Mean It With Whitney Cummings.”

Now, you may be asking yourself, “Whitney??” and “Didn’t that show get terrible ratings?” and “Wasn’t it just all around abysmal?”

Well, yes… But maybe television execs aren’t as hollow-headed as we’d like to think.

Cummings will join a long list of comediennes-turned talk show hosts, some of whom were quite successful in the endeavor.

Let’s take a look at the roster.

Same-sex marriage got another support today. And it’s a big one.

In an interview with ABC News, President Obama – aka Preezy of the United Steezy - publicly professed his full support of gay marriage. Previously, the Commander in Chief had resisted the idea (at least on a public level).

"I have to tell you that over the course of several years as I have talked to friends and family and neighbors when I think about members of my own staff who are in incredibly committed monogamous relationships, same-sex relationships, who are raising kids together, when I think about those soldiers or airmen or marines or sailors who are out there fighting on my behalf and yet feel constrained, even now that Don’t Ask Don’t Tell is gone, because they are not able to commit themselves in a marriage, at a certain point I’ve just concluded that for me personally it is important for me to go ahead and affirm that I think same sex couples should be able to get married," he told ABC's Robin Roberts.

If Jessica Simpson is still wearing Louboutins during her pregnancy, I feel really bad for her feet. Simpson’s due date is within the next couple of weeks, and as Ellen DeGeneres put it:

“It looks like it’s tomorrow.”

The fashionista appeared on The Ellen DeGeneres Show, where she talked about all things baby.

“I have some weeks,” Jessica told the host, adding that she “had contractions last night and I freaked out a little bit. You know those Braxton Hicks things.”
