Elizabeth Hurley may be bad for your health! The UK Sun is reporting that her week-long wedding produced more carbon than the average couple does in a decade. After her lavish first wedding at Sudeley Castle, Gloucs, the supermodel jetted 24 guests to India for six days of partying in three cities.
Green experts Best Foot Forward claim the celebrations and Maldives honeymoon pumped 196 tons of carbon into the air, the same as what 20 Brits or 241 Indians produce a year. The Green experts went on to comment, "This is utter wasteful extravagance."
They even calculated that wedding guest Elton John contributed to pollution when he used his purple helicopter to get to the wedding venue which accounted for 136 tons. Food and drink made up 18 tons.
This is just one of those stories that are just so ridiculous you can't stop laughing but at the same time I get why they're concerned. I'm just wondering how long it took these experts to calculate all this.
