Dallas Stars center Sean Avery has been suspended from the NHL indefinitely because of some crude remarks he made having to do with his ex-girlfriend Elisha Cuthbert. Elisha dropped Avery and started dating Calgary Flames player Dion Phaneuf, and it has definitely gotten under Avery’s skin, as this is what he told reporters before last night’s game:

I’m really happy to be back in Calgary; I love Canada. I just want to comment on how it’s become like a common thing in the NHL for guys to fall in love with my sloppy seconds. I don’t know what that’s about, but enjoy the game tonight.”

Stars owner Tom Hicks made a statement today saying, “I completely support the league’s decision to suspend Sean Avery. Had the league not have suspended him, the Dallas Stars would have. This organization will not tolerate such behavior, especially from a member of our hockey team. We hold our team to a higher standard and will continue to do so.”

Elisha and Dion must be having the best day today! Watch the video below.
