Billy Crysal has hosted the Oscars 8 times in the past and you know what they say, 9th times the charm.
Don’t get me wrong, Bill Crystal is an excellent entertainer, but I guess I was just excited for some new blood. After Eddie Murphy dropped out of the hosting gig, there were petitions to get the Muppets to host the show. Yep, this is a real thing, and was very close to happening, technicalities aside. With miserable suggestions like having stuffed puppets host the Academy Awards, we might as well get Kris Humphries to host the show. Amiright?!

Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences President, Tom Sherak, announced that Murphy has withdrawn his role as host. And apparently, it's because of Ratner's resignation. Ratner is the director behind Tower Heist, which Eddie Murphy stars in and is currently in theaters.
"I appreciate how Eddie feels about losing his creative partner, Brett Ratner, and we all wish him well," said Sherak.
Murphy commented:
"First and foremost I want to say that I completely understand and support each party's decision with regard to a change of producers for this year's Academy Awards ceremony.

A-list celebs can make tens of millions for starring in just one movie, and when that movie makes a lot of money, like Pirates of the Caribbean money, their paychecks are totally understandable. But when the movie flops, it's easy for producers to start questioning how much they're paying their stars.
Because they love quantifying our favorite celebs, Forbes has put together a poll naming the most overpaid actors. Both Drew Barrymore and Eddie Murphy top the list. Drew's movies have generated a return of forty cents for every dollar she's paid. For example, Going The Distance earned only $17.8 million in U.S. ticket sales.

No matter what you think of Murphy's skills as a comedian, it will be better than the stoner-meets-neurotic woman buddy comedy that was last years hosting duo of James Franco and Anne Hathaway. Even if you put Murphy in a fat suit and make him recite every line of dialogue from Nutty Professor II: The Klumps, it will still be better than when James Franco dressed in drag while audience members struggled to decide whether he was too tired or too high to give a good performance.

Accepting her award, Sandra joked: "Something tells me you all didn't watch the film because I wouldn't be here if you really, really watched it and understood what I was trying to say. Everyone gets a copy and this is the deal I'm going to make.
"I will show up next year if you promise to watch the movie and really consider if it was truly the worst performance. If you're willing to watch, I'll come back next year and give back the Razzie."
Sandra is expected to take home the Best Actress award later this afternoon at the Academy Awards, so a Razzie isn't going to dampen her mood.
The Jonas Brothers were named worst actors for their 3D concert movie, while Worst Picture went to ‘Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen’, with its director Michael Bay given the Worst Director prize.
Eddie Murphy and Paris Hilton were named Worst Actor and Actress of the Decade, while John Travolta's 2000 film ‘Battlefield Earth’ was named Worst Picture of the Decade.

Murphy denied being the father to little Angel Iris and demanded a DNA test. Test results determined that he was in fact the baby daddy and Mel B scored big.
In the child support agreement, Murphy has agreed to a support package totaling more than $10 million dollars! Why it costs $51,000 a month to take care of a child is beyond us, but he's getting what he deserved. Talk about a big victory for Mel and Angel!

“To see the kid, he’d have to see the mother,” a friend of Eddie's tells OK!. “Maybe when she’s older, Eddie will see Angel, but not now.”
The insider adds, “Mel’s a crazy woman. Eddie wants to stay far away from her.”
Eddie already has five other children by his ex-wife Nicole Mitchell, and two from a previous relationship. Baby number eight got shafted. The least he can do is set up a nice trust fund for her. Daddy doesn't want to see you, but your college education is covered. Thanks Dad.

According to Radaronline.com, Murphy and his baby mama Melanie Brown have finally settled their baby battle over daughter Angel Iris.
If you all remember Eddie and Mel had a short-lived fling back in '06. She got pregnant; he denied he was the father. She gave birth to Angel Iris on April 3, 2007. DNA tests proved that he was in fact her father.
"Murphy was convinced that Mel B manipulated him, even scheduling a C-section so that their baby would be born on his birthday," reports Radar.
A few months later we found out Mel had secretly married current hubby Stephen Belafonte. She kept the wedding under wraps for months while she fought with Eddie for child support.
According to the settlement Mel B gets full custody of their daughter and he gets visitation rights--not that he would visit anyway. Aside from Eddie, who do you think is the biggest celebrity cad?

But now there are reports that Eddie Murphy is talks to play the role! Now that they mention it, we could see him pulling it off! The Sun is also reporting that Rachel Weisz is playing Catwoman, which we can totally see!
These are two actors we wouldn’t necessarily envision in the roles, but now we like it! They also name Shia LaBeouf as Robin, which we’re on the fence about. The paper was told that, “Chris wasn’t sure if he wanted to do another movie but as soon as he decided to, he got the wheels in motion.
"Eddie’s a fantastic addition. Everyone’s excited to see what he does as the Riddler.” Insiders also revealed to The Sun that the movie will end on a cliffhanger over whether Batman survives a blast at Wayne Towers.
We’ll have to wait for a confirmation from Chris Nolan himself because we're finding all this kind of hard to believe. It might take some time to get used to Eddie Murphy as the Riddler and we're not sure if we will ever get used to it.
