Drew Barrymore always stars in romantic comedies but she admits that she is ready for something new and would like to star in an 'adult and dramatic' film. The actress thinks she plays in too many happy films saying, 'I do want to avoid being repetitive and I know I have been. I love romantic comedies. I love happy endings. 'But I know now that it is time to get in touch with a different side of myself - the one that is mature, adult and dramatic. 'I do want to be a 'woman' woman rather than a young woman.'
Drew Barrymore has been acting since the age of seven when she appeared in E.T. She also became a child actor gone bad when she admitted smoking marijuana aged nine and taking cocaine aged 12. Drew said: 'By 14 I was a has-been. I am so grateful now for all and any jobs I get. 'And so grateful that I went through that in my life. I honestly truly never take anything for granted.'
Speaking of romantic comedies, Drew's new flick 'Music and Lyrics starring opposite Hugh Grant hits theatres on Feb 14(Valentines Day).
