DJ AM was found dead in his New York City apartment this afternoon. He was 36.
He was found dead in his apartment around 5:20PM Friday afternoon and TMZ is reporting that prescription drug paraphernalia was found at the scene and cops are looking into whether it was an overdose. His body has not been removed yet.
Goldstein had been MIA for a few days so one of his friends went to check up on him at his apartment. When there was no response he called the cops. The police knocked down his door to find DJ AM's body unresponsive.
The last time Goldstein was photographed was this past Sunday when he threw the first pitch at a Mets game at Citi Field in NYC.
His last tweet was written on Tuesday afternoon, which read, "New York, new york, big city of dreams, but everything in new york aint always what it seems."

If you guys recall, DJ AM survived a plane crash in 2008 while four other people died.
Goldstein had a very troubled childhood with an abusive father which led to his drug use. He had spoken out about his addiction and had even opened up about his attempt at suicide.
After he realized his life was spiraling out of control, he cleaned up his act and got clean. Or so we thought.
