As morbid as it is, it’s pretty cool to see performances in movies from people who have passed away. It’s a nice way to see the person’s work live on even after death.

Heath Ledger was celebrated in his final rose before his passing in The Imaginarum of Doctor Parnassus, and now DJ AM is getting the same treatment.

Iron Man 2 to be Shown in IMAX

The late celebrity DJ is featured in the upcoming Iron Man, which comes out in theaters May 7th. He filmed the scene in the film just two months before he overdosed and died at his NYC apartment. At first, director Jon Favreau wasn’t sure about keeping the cameo in the final cut.

He told the LA Times, “We tried to make it respectful, and for people who know him, they’ll get a kick out of it and for people who don’t, it will sort of slide by without much notice.”

Favreau even went a step further, buy dedicating Iron Man 2 to the memory of DJ AM. Such a cool thing to do!

DJ AM’s estate has just sued for wrongful death against the charter jet company Adam Goldstein was on when it suddenly crashed in September 2008, and burst into flames.

According to legal papers obtained by TMZ, the estate blames Clay Lacy Aviation for AM’s death. The papers read: "the crash ultimately caused Adam Goldstein's death."

The suit, filed in L.A. County Superior Court, notes DJ AM was forced to take various drugs as a result of the burns he suffered, along with the emotional distress.

Autopsy results concluded that AM died because of a combination of various prescription drugs, along with cocaine. Sources close to him also said after the crash, AM became very afraid of flying, and was forced to take drugs to calm his nerves when he flew.

In addition to Clay Lacy Aviation, DJ AM's estate is suing the travel service, Goodyear Tire, Learjet and the estates of the two pilots who were killed in the crash.

While this may be an unexpected lawsuit, we completely understand the reasoning for AM’s estate to take it on. It was a devastating and life-altering event that ended up killing Adam Goldstein. They’re just trying to get the justice Adam would have wanted if he were still alive.

At the time of his death, DJ AM was working on a documentary for MTV to bring awareness to the severity of drug addiction, which is what ended up killing him.

The trailer for the series Gone Too Far has just been released, and depicts AM helping eight addicts the chance they need to change their lives.

In one scene, AM is depicted telling an addict, "It's not too late. I promise you, there is hope."

Adam’s family says it was a hard decision for them in deciding whether to allow the documentary to air or not, but finally realized it could only do good.

The statement from the family reads:

"It is our hope through airing this show that people will get to see the side of Adam that we knew and loved, not just the celebrity DJ, but the honest and caring person who gave so much of himself to help others. The decision to air the show has been difficult, but we do this with the profound belief that it will inspire others to seek help."

As Hollyscoop reported last month, MTV decided to go ahead with plans for DJ AM’s documentary series despite his tragic death. With the consent of Adam Goldstein’s family, the network will be airing Gone Too Far on Monday, October 12 at 10PM.

The one-hour, eight-episode series hosted and created by AM chronicles young addicts between the ages of 20-25 in the grip of addiction who are offered a chance at recovery.

Adam’s family tells MTV:

"After careful consideration we have decided to air the show. Adam felt strongly that by doing this series he could help other addicts who were at a crisis point to get sober. Adam was fully aware that if it were not for his own sobriety he never would have achieved the level of success and happiness he had found. Helping people in their recovery was a huge part of Adam’s life. It is our hope through airing this show that people will get to see the side of Adam that we knew and loved, not just the celebrity DJ, but the honest and caring person who gave so much of himself to help others. The decision to air the show has been difficult, but we do this with the profound belief that it will inspire others to seek help."

The intense and eye-opening series features real addicts in crisis whose families are desperate to get them the help they need. Each episode features AM meeting with the addicts, friends and families to explore their willingness to change. As part of his life long struggle to overcome substance abuse, his mission was to help as many people as he could and this series was a way for him to help on a bigger level. Through interviews and self-shot video from the addicts and their families, the severity of their addiction and its impact is exposed. Adam often uncovers and reveals new information that even those closest to the addicts are unaware. Along the road to recovery, Adam made the time to see how their rehabilitation was progressing, providing a raw and honest look at their new sobriety.

This must be such a hard time for AM’s family. But it amazing to see their commitment to this series, knowing how many lives Adam can potentially touch with her personal story.

More details to come…
When DJ AM passed away, MTV execs were left with hours and hours of footage from his docu-series Gone too Far and didn't know whether or not it would be appropriate to air it.

Gone too Far is an “Intervention” style series, with AM playing a sober and experienced guide for troubled addicts.

MTV wasn't sure they were going to air it after he passed because AM was supposed to serve a sober coach for these addicts.

The network refuses to comment on the status of the show just yet, but sources at MTV claim that studio bosses believe the show could successfully relay his anti-drug message if they air it.

Eight episodes of Gone too Far were shot, three days before his body was discovered on August 28 of an apparent drug overdose.

Just days before his body was discovered in his New York apartment. AM’s AA sponsor convinced him to go back to rehab, but AM wanted to wait until he finished his gig in Vegas that weekend. Unfortunately he passed away a few days later and never made it to rehab.

The show’s original premiere date was Oct. 5, though launching that soon seems unlikely at this point. Would you still want to see the series although it seems fairly hypocritical?
Paris Hilton and Nicole Richie shared more than just the spotlight for The Simple Life, they shared a man.

According to Star magazine, Paris had a brief fling with Nicole's ex fiance DJ AM

“They got more and more affectionate as the night went on, until they were all over each other. There was no doubt she wanted him,” a source told Star magazine.

“Later,” the source adds, “DJ AM and Paris retreated to the same hotel room and weren’t seen again until the next morning.”

Nicole dated AM for three years back in 2003. They broke up in 2006 and a year later Paris and AM apparently got cozy at a Toronto International Film Festival party in September 2007.

Although Paris and Nicole grew apart after The Simple Life, Paris still seemed to have a lot of love for Nicole, so we find it hard to believe she would hook up with Nicole's ex fiance. What do you guys think?

Nicole Richie has stayed relatively mum on the subject of her ex fiancé DJ AM's death, but everyone has their own way of dealing with loss.

Nicole Richie, Lindsay Lohan and John Mayer were among some of the mourners that gathered at a memorial service for DJ AM yesterday at the Hollywood Palladium in Los Angeles.

An onlooker said: "The crowd was very hip and eclectic, there were people dressed in smart black suits and people dressed in jeans and T-shirts. It was packed though, you could tell how well loved he was. It was a very somber and sad crowd."

During the two-and-a-half hour long service, which was structured to be like an Alcoholics Anonymous 12 steps meeting, his recent ex girlfriend, Haley Wood addressed the 3,500 mourners.

She said: "He was my soul mate and now he is my soul. He is my amazing grace."

AM was buried on Wednesday after he was found dead in his Manhattan apartment late Friday afternoon. While his death still remains unclear, we do know that a lot of painkillers and anti anxiety medication was found in his room--as well as crack cocaine with a crack pipe.

AM was reportedly found with undigested painkillers in his stomach and mouth and was planning on going back to rehab that following Monday, but he didn't make it through the weekend. Rest in peace AM!
DJ AM had a lot of projects in the works before his untimely death, and one of them was a major shoe deal with Nike.

Nike and AM had teamed up to work on a series of limited edition kicks, and a design had been finalized and approved by AM right before his death, but Nike has now suspended plans to release it.

TMZ spoke to a rep for the brand, who said that AM had been working with them for months on a limited edition line of "Nike Dunks" emblazoned with his own logo.

Nike is now in talks with AM's family to determine the next step in terms of marketing the product and releasing the shoes.

AM was said to be a huge Nike fan and already had over 700 pairs in his collection.

Unfortunately AM was found dead in his Manhattan apartment last Friday afternoon and will never get to see the final result of his hard work.
A memorial has been set for this Thursday to honor the life of Adam “DJ AM” Goldstein. According to MTV, the memorial will take place at the Palladium in Hollywood, a venue Adam had DJ’d many times during his life. In fact, the Palladium was the first place he played following the plane crash he survived last year.

The event is being called "a gathering to celebrate the life of our friend Adam Goldstein." The memorial will pay tribute to AM's struggle with addiction, with a format that will be in the style of an open 12-step meeting.

Meanwhile, AM will be buried at Hillside Memorial Park and Mortuary in Los Angeles Wednesday afternoon. It will be a private service at the mortuary then the family will move outside for the burial.

At the time of his death, AM was wrapping work on the MTV series "Gone Too Far," in which he was working to help other addicts overcome their addictions. MTV hasn’t yet announced plans for the show.

The invitation states: "Adam's friends both from his life in recovery, as well as those from other areas of his life are welcome. We ask only that everyone adhere to the tradition of anonymity and let what they hear there, and who they see there, stay there."

AM's family has asked fans to not send flowers in his honor, but to donate to two of his favorite charities. A note posted on the DJ's MySpace page explains, "We appreciate the kind words and support for Adam over the past few days.

"Due to your inquiries, in lieu of flowers, AM's family would like to suggest making donations to the following charitable organizations: National MS Society, Southern California Chapter, or Friendly House. The latter is a drug-treatment center for women, and a representative told TMZ that AM was a supporter of Friendly House and would show up at its luncheons.
