Dexter

Dexter, the popular show about a serial killer that just nabbed a couple SAG awards, is still hugely successful after six seasons. The show may be heading strongly towards awards season and another two seasons on Showtime, but the show's star Michael C. Hall says his character is heading towards a very unhappy ending.

The season 6 finale airs this Sunday and Michael C. Hall says it's definitely not rainbows and ponies for Dexter.

"I don't know about a happy ending. I think the question is what happens to him. Is he done in?

We’re so happy to report that Michael C. Hall is cancer-free and back to work on Dexter! Earlier this year he revealed the scary news, but he’s back to his old self, and was all smiles at Comic-Con today.

He told People, "I count myself lucky on so many fronts – and certainly in regards to the Hodgkin's.”

"It's a real gift to be able to go back to work," he continued. “One of the best things about it is that it emerged at a time when we were close to the end of shooting. I was able to treat it over the hiatus and it didn't interrupt our production schedule, which, obviously, would have its effect on me, but it would have its effect on our cast, our crew, people who count on this family to keep making the show."

Hall’s wife and Dexter co-star Jennifer Carpenter added, "It was amazing to see the support, which he would offer back to any one of them at any second – and does. The cast and crew, we spend a remarkable amount of time together. We do know each other's business, and there's a lot of love kicking around that set."

Costar James Remar said that seeing Hall back at work "makes me the happiest man on the planet. I love him. I'm just thrilled and inspired."

What an amazing recovery! We’re so happy for him! We can’t wait for season 5, and here’s a little teaser for you fans from Showtime: The network aired footage from the upcoming season in which Dexter looks at a crime scene and says, “It was me.”

Think he’d really admit to his “hobby???”
Don't MISS out on Breaking News!
Our favorite serial killer is back! And now he’s going to be a daddy! Season 4 of Dexter returns to Showtime on September 27th at 9PM.

The cast and crew made an appearance at this past weekend’s ComicCon, including Michael C. Hall and Julie Benz.

In the upcoming season, the newest addition to the cast is Dexter’s son with Rita. He’s got everything he could possibly want….except that one thing he needs, which is the time to kill! With diaper duty taking over his life, Dexter’s little hobby has taken a backseat.

John Lithgow joins the cast this season as well, playing the “Trinity Killer,” who is supposedly the most successful serial killer ever. It doesn’t take long for Dexter to return to his first love: chasing murderers.

Get ready for some blood, suspense, and a crying baby!

Check out the trailer below, and tune into the season 4 premiere September 27th at 9PM on Showtime.

Dexter isn’t going to be the only serial killer on the show next season! The Showtime hit is welcoming John Lithgow to the cast for season 4.

According to Showtime's press release, "Lithgow will play Walter Simmons, an unassuming, mild-mannered suburbanite who has been living a dual life as one of America’s most prolific and deadliest serial killers. Dubbed the 'Trinity Killer' because of his proclivity to kill in threes, he relocates to Miami after being tracked by FBI Special Agent Frank Lundy (Keith Carradine). Brought on to assist in the investigation of Miami’s latest serial killer, Dexter Morgan (Michael C. Hall) becomes fascinated with Trinity’s killing methods and his ability to evade capture for almost three decades."

Lithgow will be in it for the long haul! He’ll be featured in all 12 episodes of Season 4, which is scheduled to premiere September 27th on Showtime.

Dexter has gone and married his sister! Michael C. Hall married his co-star on the show Jennifer Carpenter in a New Year’s Eve ceremony.

Hall’s spokesman Craig Bankey says that the couple eloped in California to ring in 2009. He also confirmed that they’ll walk the red carpet together for the first time as a married couple at Sunday’s Golden Globes.

Michael and Jennifer have quietly been dating for the past year and a half. So sneaky that Dexter! Congrats to the happy couple!

The cast and crew of HBO's new hit series In Treatment had a lot to celebrate today, scoring 5 Golden Globe nominations with lead star Gabriel Byrne scoring the prestigious nomination for "Best Actor."

The Emmy award winning HBO series John Adams took 4 nominations, while HBO made for TV movie Recount took 5 nomination. It definitely was a big morning for HBO, who received 22 nominations, including 3 nominations for its hit comedy Entourage. Speaking of Entourage, congrats to Kevin Connelly, who received his first Golden Globes nomination as Eric.

It was no surprise to see America’s new sweetheart Tina Fey on the ballot for “Best Actress” in a TV Series for Comedy. If you're a fan of her hit series 30 Rock, you already know Fey is pure genius. Her Emmy award winning show came in 4th place with the most nominations.

Tina’s partner in crime Alec Baldwin got himself an GG nomination for his role as the slick, scrupulous network executive. Eat your heart out Kim Basinger.

Showtime also had a great morning receiving the second most nominations for a network. Their hit shows Dexter, The Tudors, Weeds and Californication all got nominations. Check out the full list of nominees here.

Notes of the Underbelly @ 9:30
Rachael Harris' cynical lawyer character, Cooper, has consistently been the funniest part of this series. That makes tonight's episode all the more alluring since Cooper gets the main storyline: She finds herself desperate to make a new friend who's not obsessed with baby issues. Meanwhile, Julie and Eric prep for a coming-out party for baby Perry. They decide to hire Danny to play piano and Andrew to do some landscaping, but mixing business and friendship ends up bringing down this coming out.

Dexter @ 10pm
Psst...Showtime is the new HBO! Golden Globes has spoken and they are raving about Dex (and many other Sho's programming)--let's hope he wins some much deserved awards this year! Catch the finale this week (that aired last night), lotsa deaths but some inevitable! I mean come on' we need our Dex back next season handcuffs-free to keep us entertained. There is even some international traveling in the finale, to where else? The city of love...Paris! C'est la Vie! This show does not come with out a morbid sense of humor. With Dex ironing out all his problems and Debra letting go of yet another lover (he's too old anyway...can you Daddy?) I can't wait for next season. I am hoping for another serial killer hunt like in the first season, but not his brother this time! Come on' writers strike- let's work it out soon!!

October Road @ 10pm
Last week, Hannah chooses Ray, which leads Nick to finally realize that it's time to move the frak on. It also leads Road to go the flashback route, showing us Nick and Hannah's first encounter as kids and then when they dated as teens. Meanwhile, Owen learns the details of Allison and Ikey's affair by going on Nick's "infidelity tour," and Eddie and Hannah are hiding a big secret from Nick that Eddie is chomping at the bit to spill. Tonight, Hannah clashes with Ray's ex-wife over the care of her sons. Meanwhile, Nick sets Ronnie up with Aubrey's friend for a double date, and Pizza Girl pressures Phil to take his classic car out of the garage.

Clash of the Choirs @ 8pm
To kick off this four-night event, five music stars are sent to their hometowns to assemble a choir of amateurs, who then compete each night until a winner is chosen. One part singing showdown and one part competitive mentoring, the contest features Michael Bolton (hometown: New Haven, Connecticut), Patti LaBelle (Philadelphia), Nick Lachey (Cincinnati), Kelly Rowland (Houston), and Blake Shelton (Oklahoma City).
